Dear Jazz Station Community Members,
We want to invite you to join us for our online 2022 Winter Outreach Program Fundraiser. This particular fundraiser supports our various education outreach programs including events held both in our venue and out in the community. They are:
- “The 1 st Monday Night Big Band” which provides an opportunity for students of all ages to sit in with some of the regions finest professionals to play together, and for community audience members to enjoy music rarely performed and heard in a club setting.
- The 1 st and 3 rd Wednesdays of each month throughout the school year we host “One Set Wednesdays”. Here, budding musicians have the opportunity to book their first club date and perform in a real-life jazz performance setting.
- Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, Dona Clarke, hosts “Jammin with the Pros” (JWP). JWP expands the opportunities for community life-long learners who are interested in developing performance skills, meeting other musicians and desiring to play alongside our professional rhythm section.
- Throughout the year we host student ensembles from area colleges and high schools inside the venue; and outside in the community, we visit middle schools and high schools providing one-on-one instruction, coaching ensembles and performing concerts. For many students, The Jazz Station House Band is the first time they have ever heard jazz.
